Date: January 9th, 2020; 7pm – 9pm.
Presenter: Ken Espheter, Battle River Railway
Cost: FREE

Ken Espheter joins us once again to tell the story of the Battle River Railway. He brings with him hands on, real life experience of organizing a Co-Op in Rural Alberta. What was the motivation for their Co-Op, struggles they had when creating it, and tips and tricks for anyone with goals of creating their own Co-Op.

Battle River Railway is a new generation cooperative, shortline railway, that runs from Camrose, AB, to Alliance, AB. It was purchased in 2010 by area producers and residents to serve local agriculture and industrial customers. It has expanded to offer three core services: commodity transportation, storage and tourism.
