Director – Board of Directors

Join Our Board of Directors

We work alongside agricultural producers and rural communities to explore climate solutions that improve soil health, create new economic opportunities, protect biodiversity, and build resilience to droughts and floods.

We take a made-in-Alberta, rural-first approach, making climate conversations accessible, practical and relevant—recognizing that rural climate solutions contribute to healthier, more resilient futures for both rural and urban communities. And while our roots are in Alberta, our goal is to expand across the Prairies in the near future.

Through learning resources, social innovation labs, producer-led projects and partnerships, we’re working with diverse individuals, communities, and organizations to embrace practices that are good for the farm and the climate.

What We Do

RR2CS supports the adoption of climate solutions through community-driven projects and accessible education. Our work includes:

  • The Regenerative Agriculture Lab – a collaborative space where producers, researchers, and community leaders co-create solutions for regenerative land management.
  • The Siksikaitsitapi Agriculture Project – focused on supporting Blackfoot-led food systems, land stewardship, and knowledge sharing.
  • Our communications & education tools, including:
    • Farmer’s Blog & Podcast – storytelling platforms that highlight producers leading the way in regenerative agriculture.
    • Workshops, events, and field days – interactive opportunities for rural Albertans to learn from one another and share practical insights.

If you’re excited about where agriculture, community resilience and climate solutions meet, we’d love to hear from you.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals who bring valuable lived experience, leadership and a bit of fire-in-the-belly for growing this movement to join our board of directors.

We’re especially interested in individuals who:

  • Bring business-savvy insights or a strategic mindset
  • Have experience in fundraising for non-profits—especially those who’ve found creative ways to diversify funding (beyond just grants).
  • Are Indigenous—ideally Blackfoot—and have taken on leadership roles in your community, whether through council, programming or land-based work

Time Commitment

  • Two 90-minute board meetings per quarter
  • 1–2 day in-person board retreat each year
  • Additional engagement opportunities at Director’s discretion

Note: We’re currently revisiting board term lengths but do not have set terms at the moment.

Why Join The Board

  • Shape the future of climate solutions in rural Alberta.
  • Support regenerative agriculture and community-led solutions.
  • Gain and contribute valuable experience in governance, strategy and systems change.
  • Collaborate on this timely and important global issue with a passionate, purpose-driven team that understands how local and regional actions can create ripple effects far beyond.
